record directly from computer microphone into streaming radio

How to record from your computer microphone into streaming radio:

From the RadioWeave web site, you can record directly from your computer microphone and have have your recording playing over the radio in a few seconds.

Responding directly to whatever is currently playing:

Click on the blue microphone icon whenever you want to record a response to the track that is currently playing. This will pop up the microphone to quickly record and insert your response as a reply to that track. Depending on the type of channel the track is in, others who listen to that channel (or its backchannel) may also hear your response..

Recording a new track from your computer's microphone:

1) You may user your computer's microphone to create a recording at any time. From the "contribute" tag select "create" and then press "record".

2) After the Java recording applet loads (this may take a few seconds the first time), press "Record" and speak, play flute, whatever.

Keep an eye on the volume meter to the right. If is frequently in the red then the recording may be too loud and distorted. Usually you can adjust the microphone from a control-panel or preferences setting on your computer if it is too loud. (Don't worry about being too quiet.)

If you like the recording, press "Upload" to send the recording to online radio.

3) After the file has been uploaded you can take a moment to give the track a title to help other listeners understand this audio. From this screen you can set many other options, such as time-to-expire, tags, which channels to put the track into, and sharing with Facebook or Twitter.

In most you probably won't change these setings, and will just press "save this new track" so everyone can hear it.
